Automotive Service Technician
This program is designed to prepare students for entry level employment and/or advanced training. This program offers classroom and practical shop learning experience. The first course includes instruction in the foundation skills related to safety, tool, and equipment usage, measurement, basic automotive service, and brake and electrical system service. The second course provides students with foundation skills related to engine performance, drive trains, steering and suspension systems, and air conditioning/heating service. This program is a pathway for students in the Transportation Career Cluster. Second year students will take the ASE national certification test. Students receive elective credits.
State Prerequisites:
- C or higher in English (the previous year)
- C or higher in Math (last course taken or the instructor can specify the math)
- CTE Instructor and Administrative approval
